Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 18

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we fished in Sandy Hook bay with a north wind. It was a bit choppy but we drifted pretty good. There was good action with shorts and we caught a few keepers. On the afternoon trip the wind flopped out and there was not much of a drift. We did not catch as many shorts as the morning but we caught more keepers. Rodney had one keeper in the morning and decided to stay for the afternoon and he caught two more keepers for his daily limit. Take a look at the gallery and see his and some other keepers from today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The weather forecast kept most of the people away but we made both morning and afternoon trips again today. The weather on the morning trip was good but the fishing was not. We did not have good drifting conditions. Everywhere we went we picked some shorts but only had a couple of keepers for the morning. On the afternoon trip the conditions started out good till the weather changed. We had squalls with heavy rain and wind. Again we picked at shorts and a keeper. Take a look at the gallery and see the keepers from today. The weather is supposed to turn nice for tomorrow and the rest of the week and hope fully the fishing will improve. We are half day fishing everyday for fluke making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. The weather was nice on both trips. On the morning trip we had good drifting conditions in Sandy Hook Bay. We picked at shorts with some keepers and it was better then yesterday morning. On the afternoon trip we fished in Sandy Hook bay again with good drifting conditions. We picked but not as good as yesterday afternoon. We are always trying but we never know which trip will be better. Take a look at the gallery and see some of the keepers from today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). We are not affected by any on the offshore storms and it is cooler on the water. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. We had heavy rain before we left the dock then it was on and off drizzle. We could not repeat yesterday's fishing. We went back to the area where we fished yesterday (channels) and the current made the drift too fast. We went into the bay till the current slowed down. When the current slowed down we went back and picked some shorts with a few keepers. But is was not good. Ben had two keepers but he was the exception ( he gave them away). The weather cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. On the afternoon trip we stayed in the bay where we fished yesterday afternoon. Ben came back for the afternoon and caught his limit. There was more action with the shorts and a more keepers then the morning but not really good. But as always we will keep on trying. Take a look at the gallery and see some of the keepers from today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On both trips the fishing was better today then the past few days. Hopefully this fishing will continue. We are either fishing the channels or Sandy Hook or Raritan Bays. If the ocean is rough we will be fishing in the bay. Don't let the media hype about rough surf and rip currents from a storm that is hundreds of miles away scare you. Take a look at the gallery and see some of the keepers from today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
